A practical plan for Azure startup credits.

Startup credits can support a new product, but the headline award is not a substitute for understanding the covered services. Start with a small, clear forecast.

01

Read the current program terms

Check Microsoft's official startup program for eligibility and benefits. Prepare your company information and technical plan. An advertised maximum is a ceiling, not a guaranteed award for every company.

02

Keep the cloud bill legible

Tag resources by environment and feature. Separate model usage from databases, storage, and networking. Check the award's service exclusions and expiry before moving a workload into Azure just to spend the balance.

03

Make the transition ordinary

Model what the product costs after the credits finish. Set reminders ahead of expiry and remove resources that no longer matter. Review the provider's rules before considering an unused-balance sale; eligibility to use credits doesn't establish a right to transfer them.
